This past weekend, the Illinois Lambda chapter represented itself well at the annual Carlson Leadership Academy in Chicago at the Westin Lombard. An event held in multiple cities, Carlson is an opportunity for our brothers to meet brothers from other chapters in the Midwest, learn skills to use in the chapter and in their personal lives, and attend multiple awards banquets. All new members participated in a track for rising leaders. Our executive board officers attended tracks specific to their positions. Our senior members went to a senior track as they near the conclusion of their college experience. Senior Jack Byrne, former president of our chapter, said about Carlson, “Even as a senior, I still felt like I took away a lot of valuable skills that will take me far beyond my time in SigEp.” Leaving Carlson, our brothers walked away with tools and mindsets to help lead the future of our chapter and themselves.
